PNG to JPEG
on iPhone & Android.
PNGs are great for screenshots and graphics but huge compared to JPEG. Fileroom shrinks them with an adjustable quality slider, all on your phone — no upload, no compression service in the loop.
Free tier — 10 conversions / day, files up to 50 MB.
Why convert PNG to JPEG?
- Typical 5–10× file size reduction at visually identical quality.
- Many web forms and CMS uploaders limit by file size — JPEG fits where PNG doesn't.
- Photos and screenshots almost always look fine as JPEG.
- On-device with a real quality slider you can compare.
How to convert PNG to JPEG
- 01
Pick the PNG
Open Fileroom and pick one or more PNGs from Files or Photos.
- 02
Choose JPEG
Tap JPEG in the output row and set the quality (85 for sharing, 95 for archival).
- 03
Convert
Tap Convert. The JPEG saves alongside your library; compare the before/after in the success screen.
Frequently asked
- Will the JPEG lose detail?
- JPEG is lossy, so some pixel-level detail is dropped. At quality 90+ this is invisible. For graphics with sharp edges (icons, screenshots), consider keeping PNG.
- What about transparency in the PNG?
- JPEG doesn't support transparency. Any transparent pixels become white in the output. If you need transparency, stay on PNG.
- Can I batch convert?
- Yes — pick multiple PNGs and Fileroom converts them in one pass with the same quality setting.
