MP4 to MP3
on iPhone & Android.
Sometimes you only need the audio track from a video — a lecture recording, a podcast saved as MP4, a voice memo. Fileroom extracts MP3 from MP4 entirely on your phone.
Free tier — 10 conversions / day, files up to 50 MB.
Why convert MP4 to MP3?
- 10× smaller than the original video — fits everywhere.
- Audio-only playback, perfect for background listening in the car or on a run.
- MP3 plays on every device, every car stereo, every smart speaker.
- Extraction happens on-device — the source video never uploads.

Frequently asked
- Will I lose quality going to MP3?
- MP3 is lossy, so yes — but at 192–320 kbps the loss is inaudible to most listeners. Pick 320 kbps for music, 128 kbps for spoken-word.
- Can I extract only part of the video?
- Yes — use Trim Video first to mark in/out points, then convert the trimmed clip to MP3.
- Does MP4 → MP3 keep the chapter markers or metadata?
- Fileroom transfers the title and artist tags where they exist. Chapter markers don't survive — MP3 has no equivalent.
