Frequently asked
- How much quality do I lose?
- At 320 kbps the loss is inaudible in blind tests for most listeners. At 128 kbps you'll hear it in music; for speech it's still fine.
- Is FLAC a better choice than MP3?
- FLAC is lossless but only ~50% smaller than WAV. MP3 at 320 kbps is 10× smaller with quality close enough that most people can't tell. Pick FLAC for archival, MP3 for sharing.
- Can I convert multi-channel WAV?
- Yes — Fileroom downmixes to stereo for MP3. If you need 5.1 surround, stay on WAV or use AAC.
